White fang


            The story takes place in the Yukon mountains around the time of the gold rush of 1898. Jack who is a young gold hungry man is the protagonist in the story. He is in search of his fathers claim. Jack doesn't know how to get to his fathers claim and the only person that does I Alex Larson. Alex and his partner decide to help jack get to the claim. They have many obstacles trying to get to Jacks fathers. Alex is taking his friend that has died to be buried. They travel through the ridged mountains and the sled tips and sends Jack right into a frozen pond. Jack almost freezes to death. Alex builds a fire with the books that Jack packed. Later that night one of their dogs disappear as it lured by a she-wolf and is eaten by the pack. They only have three bullets left, and Alex's partner uses them to save one of their dogs; he misses and is eaten along with the dog. Only Alex, Jack and two dogs are left; they makes a fire, trying to drive away the wolves. The wolves draw in close and jack is almost eaten, saved only by a company of men who were traveling nearby. They finally They get into town where they meet White Fang. White Fang is owned by an Indian who caught and trained him. While in town a mean man by the name of Beauty Smith frames the Indian and takes white fang in exchange. Beauty Smith is the Antagonist of the story. He trains White fang to be a fighter. Beauty Smith makes White Fang into dog fighter and he fights other dogs until he meets his match with a bulldog from the east and is saved only by Jack. White Fang learns to love his master, But he doesn't take on to him very kindly at first. Later in the story Jack is chased by a bear and is trapped under a pile of trees. Jack has nowhere to go and also sees death in front of him. Out of no where White fang comes to his rescue and chases the bear away and saves Jack. After that Jack and Alex strike it big and find gold that is 98% pure.
