Adoption is an alternative for most parents that don't have the opportunity to have children. The process is long and tedious and requires many different tests that families must pass in order to be granted the opportunity to take in a child and call it their own. Gay people on the other hand are viewed differently in society and are given certain rights by certain states. Some states are legalizing gay marriages and therefore doing the same thing for gay adoption. Many gay couples have settled and decided that they want to raise a family, clearly they can't have children, and most already have pets but feel there still needs to be more, so adoption is a last resort. The government has tried to make it easier to help out gay couples, but the people that live in these cities that are against these adoptions are not accepting it with a calm demeanor. The citizens of these different cities have protested, written letters to the local newspapers, and tried to do everything in their power to try and stop the decision of the government to accept gay adoptions.
The position of gay adoptions is very opinionated. The basis of people's decisions are of their own thinking of what they feel is best for the child, and how society will view them later on as the child develops in the house-hold. The people that should be paying attention to these situations are the gay couples that are trying to adopt. The constraints of this situation would be the government not considering the gay couple. Unless the people making the decisions, the government, of gay adoption are gay I don't think they could have a valid reason why a gay adoption could not be. On the other hand, the exigence of the situation is the government has tried these gay adoptions, and the children have ended up emotionally unstable and don't understand why they have two fathers, or two mothers. .
