I joined a club at school. It's called Safe and Healthy schools. We have a bunch of positive initiatives to support things like anti-bullying, standing up against women's abuse and so much more. I think ... it's good for me and it makes my mother happy that I am finally apart of something. I've met a few people out of this club and I think we might almost be considered friends now. ... terrific short story. I genuinely loved this story because I can relate to it. I am very superstitious so I to have a good luck charm. The only difference between Henry Dobbins and I is that my good luck charm is a one dollar bill instead of a pair of stockings. Dobbins stockings were special to him because his they belonged to his girlfriend ... only the stockings around his neck and absolutely no other armor, their minds were made up that those pantyhose's truly had power. As far as my good luck charm, it is a dollar bill that my grandmother gave to me. She folded it up into a triangle ...

My hat flew off my head and out onto the highway of speeding cars and monstrous trucks. Mom thought it was gone for good ... , but I would not let that happen. I began my frantic search on the side of the highway and I could not believe my luck. There, safely on the shoulder of the road was my trusty old Knicks hat! We were reunited. My Mom hated that old smelly hat, but she understood its signif...

... . But, the attack was worded in a way to make the reader realize what makes it so special. True love in this poem comes with many images. The speaker describes the joy that the people that are truly in love have and what activities they engage in. But, there is a twist. The speaker once again takes the side of those who are ... "happy." The tone the speaker uses in the third stanza is obviously bitter. Nonetheless, the speaker still compels the reader to acknowledge the fact that true love brings joy and happiness to people. While many may argue that the speaker here is attacking true lo...

... in. What a fantastic job Mark Twain did when he wrote this. I truly felt as if I were Aunt Rachel. I do not understand her closing line "I hain't had no trouble. An" no joy!" Her husband and children were sold off into slavery, her youngest literally ripped from her arms. She was enslaved and relocated as well. If this is not trouble, then I do ... in twenty-two years, she and Henry found each other thirteen years prior to the telling of this story. To have found at least one child, is that not joy? Maybe the "no joy" stems from the fact that she has not managed to be reconciled with th...
... . Our roles can change over the course of the day. Therefore what I am most like in class on Friday can be very different from what I am like if I go to a club later that night. On the other hand, I could be a wild party animal ... at the club if I believe that I am attractive. So switching back to narrative can help calm the story down. One example of this ... ...
